Recruitment was held in eight sites across Peninsular Malaysia, with several more, including in Sabah and Sarawak, anticipated in 2025. As the 2024 recruitment concluded, a total of 1,832 participants from diverse ethnicities enrolled, highlighting the active engagement of the Malaysian public in this initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the notable participants during this timeframe were YBhg. Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, Deputy Secretary General (Technology Development), MOSTI; YBrs. Puan Ruziah Binti Shafei, Deputy Secretary General (Planning and Science Enculturation), MOSTI; and YBhg. Datuk Dr. Nor Fariza binti Ngah, Deputy Director General (Research &#038; Technical Support), NIH, MOH.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MyGenom study seeks to recruit healthy Malaysians to build a comprehensive genetic reference that will enhance the accuracy of health assessments and interventions. To participate, individuals provided two tablespoons of blood, completed a detailed survey, and underwent anthropometric measurements. Additionally, participants received a free health check that included blood tests, body composition analysis, and heart screening. As a gesture of appreciation for their contribution, each participant was given a small token of thanks. This collaborative effort not only contributes valuable data to the MyGenom project but also offers participants important health insights and checks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MyGenom project continues to be a cornerstone of Malaysia&#8217;s push towards personalized medicine, with this recruitment phase marking a crucial step in gathering the genetic data
